In 2022, the Planning and Development Department administered a total of $2,637,997.50 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement, Competitive and COVID funding. including $1,537,182.64 for Huntingdon County; $720,598.86 on behalf of Huntingdon Borough; and $380,216 on behalf of Smithfield Township.  Additionally, in 2022, the Planning Department administered $47,227.73 in Huntingdon County Act 13 Marcellus Shale Legacy Grant awards. These funds included grant awards from 2020 through 2022.

The Planning Department received a total of 98 applications for subdivision and land development review in 2022.  These applications included 5 major subdivisions, 2 major residential land developments, 15 non-residential land developments, 71 minor subdivisions and 5 minor residential land developments.

A geographic information system (GIS) developed by the Department for use in both planning and 9-1-1 addressing was turned over to the County Mapping Department when the Mapping Department was formed in 2007.  County and municipal maps are available from the Mapping Department.  Census and other information about Huntingdon County can be obtained from the Planning Department.
