The Emergency Management Agency is responsible for the mitigation of all types of emergencies and potential emergencies. Prior to and during a disaster, the Agency is responsible for organizing all locally available manpower, materials, supplies, equipment, and services necessary for disaster emergency readiness, response, and recovery. The Agency maintains its programs with the help of an active director, adequate resources, location, equipment, people, training exercises and updates; and an emergency management partnership with municipal, county, state and federal governments, volunteers and the private sector.
Our Mission:
It is our mission and purpose to help protect the residents and visitors of Huntingdon County through effective planning for, response to and recovery from natural and man-made disasters that occur. We serve our community through the provision of incident response management and coordination, research and development of mitigation strategies, and assisting communities and individuals recover from the effects of major disasters.
