Commonly asked questions:

When can I burn my non-recyclable trash?

The burning times are:  Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

from 7:00 - 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

What do I do if I am going to make any improvements to my home or property?

You will need to get a permit from the Borough Office if you are making any structural improvements or additions to your property.  The cost of the permit is $15.  Please contact the Borough secretary at 447-3055 during regular business times or leave a message to start the permit process.

Some improvements may require a permit from the state.

If you are making structural improvements, breaking ground, installing a manufactured home or a swimming pool to your property, you may also require a permit from Burea Veritas www.BVbuildingsafety.com.  However, you must obtain your Borough permit first.

What do I do if a street light is not working properly?

You have a couple choices.  First thing to do is note the physical location of the pole and if possible retrieve the pole number from the pole.  You may go online to www. Penelec.com and report the street light, or call the Borough office at 447-3055 and leave a message with the exact problem with the light and the physical location of the pole.
