HUNTINGDON COUNTY HOUSING ASSISTANCE
Huntingdon County has funded a very popular and successful, 13 year old Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program to make major home repairs for low and moderate-income families. Under the Housing Rehabilitation Program, an eligible homeowner receives an interest free "forgiveness" loan of up to $15,000 to make repairs necessary to bring the house up to the county's housing rehabilitation standards. Eligibility is limited to homeowners meeting the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development's Low & Moderate-Income Standards. (link to CDBG Facts)
The Huntingdon County Planning and Development Department supports housing activities through administration of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, by seeking other grant funding and through administration of the Huntingdon County Housing Rehabilitation Guidelines.
Huntingdon County provides Federal CDBG and HOME grant funds to Weatherization Inc. to operate the Housing Rehabilitation Program. Persons desiring more information about the program should call 814-643-2343.
