Agency Liaison

In addition to the review of subdivision and land development activity, implementation of the "Huntingdon County Comprehensive Plan" is furthered through agency liaison, county-municipal project review and federal-state project review.

The Planning Commission and its staff coordinate the implementation of planning recommendations with many agencies and units of government.  This includes staff participation in many committees and attendance at numerous meetings.  The Planning and Development staff continued to work closely with the:

Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission

Juniata Clean Water Partnership

Huntingdon County Heritage Committee

Huntingdon County Business and Industry

County-Municipal Project Review

Section 303 of the PA Municipalities Planning Code (Act 247) gives the Planning Commission the authority to review and comment on various public facility projects, zoning, subdivision and other land development ordinances.  See the Annual Report for more information.

Federal-State Project Review

The Planning Commission reviews projects that use federal funds for consistency with the County Comprehensive Plan, under the authority of Executive Order #12372, in cooperation with the Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission.  See the Annual Report for more information.
