HUNTINGDON COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION
 
   The Huntingdon County Planning Commission was first established by County Ordinance on November 15, 1962.  The Planning Commission is directly responsible to the Board of County Commissioners and is responsible for preparing plans for the County in areas of: transportation, land use, economy and employment, community services, conservation, recreation and open space, sewer and water, solid waste, energy, and housing.  According to County Ordinance the Planning Commission consists of nine members appointed by the Commissioners.  The Planning Commission operates under the provisions of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, Act 247.  The Commission is assisted in carrying out its responsibilities by the Planning and Development Department.
 
The Huntingdon County Planning Commission meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Courthouse Annex I Conference Room.  Contact information for the Planning Commission is shown below:
