LIFETIME DOG LICENSES

The owner of any dog three months of age or older may apply to the county treasurer for a lifetime license providing the dog has or will be permanently identified . The Pennsylvania State Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement will recognize two forms of permanent identification for a lifetime license, they are: 1) a tattoo number assigned by the county treasurer (placed on the right-hind leg on the inner part of the upper thigh of the dog) or a surgically implanted micro-chip (which is placed under the skin of the dog-normally on the back of the neck).  These services must be performed by a licensed veterinarian/technician or licensed kennel.  Any dog which has been issued a lifetime license shall be required to wear a license tag.  A lifetime license eliminates the need to purchase an annual license and is valid for the lifetime of the dog in the State of Pennsylvania.

PLEASE NOTE:  A properly completed Lifetime Dog Application AND Permanent Identification Verification Form is required to obtain a lifetime dog license.
