  • Housing Authority

   The Housing Authority, established in 1953, has been appointed to develop, finance, build, and operate public and low-income housing in the County.  The five-member board is appointed by the County Commissioners for five-year terms with one member appointed each year.

  • Industrial Development Authority

   The Industrial Development Authority, established in the late 1950's, consists of a five-member board, appointed by the County Commissioners, for three-year terms.  The goal of the Authority is to enhance the quality of life through business expansion and retention through low-interest financing.

  • General Authority

   The General Authority, established in 1981, was activated to obtain and administrate the financing of the Juniata College Recreation Center.  It consists of a five-member board appointed by the County Commissioners for rotating terms.

 

  • Hospital Authority

   The Hospital Authority was established to finance improvements to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon Borough.  The Authority holds title to the hospital and leases it back to the Board of Directors.  The five member Board is appointed by the Commissioners.

 

  • Redevelopment Authority

   The Redevelopment Authority was created in 1972 following the severe flooding caused by Hurricane Agnes to implement a Redevelopment Plan for Huntingdon and Mount Union Boroughs and Smithfield Township.  Activities such as property acquisition, housing rehabilitation, and construction of community facilities have been completed.  A small amount of redeveloped land remains to be sold by the Authority.
