State-wide Building Code Information

The Universal Construction Code (UCC) will be adopted and enforced in Walker Township on July 1, 2004.  Building Permits issued prior to July 1, 2004 will be good for one year from the date of issue.  Any work not completed by that date will have to be re-applied for under the new UCC.

Administering the UCC for Walker Township & other members of the Huntingdon Council of Government, (which include Huntingdon & Mill Creek Boroughs, Brady, Henderson, Oneida, Juniata, Lincoln, Logan, Penn, Porter, & Smithfield Townships):

There is typically someone in the office on Monday, Wednesday, and on Friday morning.  Please call to set up an apppointment.  You will need information that Walker Township has to provide you prior to meeting with Rod for the first time.

There have been changes made to the regulations, signed into law, SB 1139, known as Act 93, by the Governor on July 15, 2004.  These changes are outlined on the labor & industry website, www.dli.state.pa.us, Act 93 changes to Uniform Construction Code.  This information superseeds the information below as far as exemptions are concerned.
